Can you earn points / cashback on Credit Card spend from a French Bank?

This is a question that I asked myself when I first moved to France? In the United States there are dozens of credit cards that have hotel points, airline miles, cashback, etc. What about in France?

In France, the only Visa / Mastercard credit card that I am aware of that offers cashback is from Boursorama. This is the Metal offer from Boursorama which offers 0.2% cashback in euros spend (maximum 20 euros per month) and 2% cashback in other currencies.

The card offers many benefits, but costs 9.90 euros per month as part of a larger premium banking package with Boursorama.

The only other cards that offer cashback are American Express cards, but they are less accepted in France. I have applied for an American Express card and will post about that experience once my application is approved.
